Mortgage after BR, Sub Prime Card to Build Rating

Hi
we will be looking to try take a new mortgage toward the year end
I was discharged from bankruptcy in August 2011 so was made bankrupt in August 2010) so this August is five years from the bankruptcy date, and four from discharge,
anyhow would it be beneficial for me to try open a sub prime lender credit card to begin to rebuild my rating?
Ive cleaned my credit file and am just waiting for hsbc to update a default they have still running even after it being in the bankruptcy order

My husband incurred a defualt due to my bankruptcy, which we paid in full last june so nearly a year ago as well, that is his only error ever and its my fault

so Im guessing I am asking what else we need to do, we have cleared my husbands credit card, and will have a 20% plus deposit
thanks

If your husband has credit accounts. Then little point in opening a sub prime one. Focus on building your savings as it this that will open more doors as the balance increases.

No you don't. Just do the normal day to day things right. Electoral roll registration, pay utility bills etc on time.
