Vesta crispy noodles

More cooking than buying but

Used to love Vesta chow mein and particularly those crispy noodles that came with it

Being 643267 years old I can remember when they guessed to sell crispy noodles separate but they haven't done that for years

Just wondering what they are actually made from and whether I can make my own to chuck on top of the odd spaghetti bolognese or curry

I would have thought they were similar to the chow mein and just shallow fried strips of pasta rather than actual noodle.

I think they might be some sort of rice noodle they puff up a bit like prawn crackers

Crispy Noodles (6%) (Rice Flour, Wheat Flour, Tapioca, Salt, Vegetable Oil, Turmeric, Maize)

According to the ingredients list above that is what they are.

Take some noodles and cook as normal. Dry them and leave to cool.

Deep fry for a couple of minutes ( time depends on "crispyness" you want ) .

I looooove those too and always pinch DH's when he has the meal! If they sold them on their own I know a couple of people who would buy them. Wonder if they sell them in other countries?

When I lived in Coventry they always used to sell these in the local Indian grocery shops. They just looked like short, thick strips of Sellotape but puffed up marvelously and tasted delicious once cooked. They even sold multi-coloured varieties. I'm sure Indian grocery shops nationwide will sell them unless Coventry had the monopoly!
