Barclays Mortgage

Does anyone know if their lending criteria is more relaxed than others? The reason I ask is they are offering us (quote on website, so not taking too seriously) a lot more than many other places such as Halifax and Lloyds. I would like to stay with Halifax however have found somewhere we'd like to move to and require a bigger mortgage.

Also do you know at what point both applicants need to attend the meetings as my DH is working away and is never home during opening hours? Obviously he will need to be there for something but I'm wondering if I can input all the data and he comes to final signing meeting and reviews it?

Dont forget to include the income cap.
You may find their calculator says one figure but the income cap cuts that figure short.

Lending criteria is relaxed in some situations, less so in others - it depends what your concerns are. Every lender has their good and bad points.

You are right not to take online calculations too seriously.

If you are using the simple calculator on the Barclays website it seems to bear little relation to the calculations they actually use on an application.

If your Partner is away a lot you would be better off using a mortgage broker.
