And here we have confirmation that interest rates won't be budging for some time yet.
Ian McCafferty and Martin Weale joined the other seven members to hold rates - they had been voting for an increase previously.

I can't see rates going up this year. even more so now with the two that were always voting for an increase now wanting to hold0

Looks like the 0.5% BoE rate will almost certainly see its 6th Birthday on 5th March. Hasn't time flown.
I might start the celebrations by dusting off Renovationman's interest rate gamble thread. It always seems to create a feel good factor across the board.0 -

No idea, nor do I care. All I know is this decision is keeping my mortgage repayments ultra low. Time to book that cruise I think! :beer:0 -

We're off to the Maldives what with cheap mortgage payments, cheap fuel and a significant contribution reduction to my gold plated pension it would be rude not to

Makes you wonder what the end game is though. As there's still no end in sight.0 -
Certainly not something to particularly pleased about.
I've been delighted about it. Far less than half the amount of interest paid in the last 6 years than the previous 6. Every penny has eventually landed up in my sipp with a 40% tax rebate added. Now fixed until 2019 so I've started moaning about hard pressed savers.Thrugelmir wrote: »Makes you wonder what the end game is though. As there's still no end in sight.
The last few years should have taught us there isn't a grand plan or end game. I just try and enjoy the journey in case I never get to the destination or don't like it when I get there.0
