Bank error delinquent account stopping mortgage offers

Hi

I'm really hoping you can help, we have been in our rented property for 5 years and have just had our 2 month notice period to move out.

We have found a property to buy as my mum just downsized her house and is able to lend is the deposit.

We had a mortgage offer in principal from L&C so found a house within this budget and had an offer accepted. We then went to L&C to progress the mortgage. We had to print off 2 credit reports to send them and this is where the nightmare begins.

I had a dreadful credit rating and on further reading realised that a Lloyds bank account wasn't closed when I requested it to be. It sat with £6 on an overdraft since July last year. I spoke to experian who have made a note on my report that this is a dispute.

We are in fear of losing the only house in our area big enough and affordable and do not want to return to renting. Can anyone suggest a mortgage company that would offer us a mortgage under our corcumstances as anyone reading between the lines Can see the error.

Fingers crossed.

    You've lost me.

    You have appointed L&C.

Why are they not finding you a suitable mortgage option?

because they don't really care, for £6 cant see been an issue but would ask Lloyds what the £6 is for. the noc will do you more hassle by the way
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

I doubt that the old bank account is the root of your problems then.

What else is on your credit file?
