£40 per letter

Hello I have an interest only mortgage a few years ago i missed three months payments i came to an agreement with my mortgage company to pay these arrears off over two years which i have done, recently i have begun to remortgage and i have noticed that my balance has gone up more than what it should have and this is due to being charged with interest while in arrears which i can partly understand but also a £40 letter to tell me the state of play of my mortgage even now when i have no arrears, Can these charges be claimed back as i cannot see how an automated letter costs £40 to produce ? If anbody can offer me any advice i would be grateful.
Cheers Andrew
