Anybody recommend a good photographer that is professional and not too pricey in the northwest(wirral) area. The price ranges and quality seem vast!

Hiya a word of warning here.
My brother was a best man at at his best mate's wedding & they got this photographer in. The photo were total c***p. Sal ( bride) was deverstated & they tried to get their money back but no chance. This guy was swearing down the phone at her & it got nasty. The kid who took the photos (they think they use students who are just needing work experience - this is how they keep costs down) was rude to Sal's aunty and he was smoking while doing the job.
I know they never got any money back and the photos were so washed out and peoples legs & feet cut off. Total upset.
Hope this helps. Su0 -
Hi, We used them for our wedding photographs a few weeks ago and they were brilliant. We had the main photographer and he was really professional. We now have a disc of 650 high res images with full copyright. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending the photographer, it's great to have so many pictures rather than having to choose a handful to keep. They are all excellent quality and he actually made it quite enjoyable having the photos taken, something I'm not particularly keen on! He even emailed us a handful when he'd received our payment so that we could have a look at a few whilst on honeymoon.0

You can not book the owner as he has some other photographers they have their mug shots on a web page.. I was reading on the the big bride to be forum bad reports because of this use of student photographers sent to keep cost down.
I would recommend you book a photographer whose work you could see and not take a chance on your important day.
Hope this is useful.0 -

Hiya,
I have also just booked Darren, I read loads of comments from people saying how good they were and have seen some of the photos on his website which look lovely. So far i have spoken to him via email and he has been excellent, Im getting married in August so if this is before you and you would like to see the photos let me know!0 -
Was then going to recommend Avid and see that siren very kindly linked my thread.
The first time i got married my photos stayed in a box under the bed - this time I even have some out on display and love looking at them.Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended

Personally, I'd be wary of a photographer who offers to provide you with the finished product the next day on a cd/dvd; even if they are supremely gifted and get every shot perfect in-camera, when it involves hundreds of images it means there has been none of the photoshop work that can lift an image to something uniquely beautiful, even if its just removing the odd blemish or tidying up running mascara.0

We're using Ian Mackenzie, based in Liverpool. He did a friend's wedding and his pictures were really nice, except for his penchant for shots at 45°. But we asked him kindly to keep the camera straight and he was completely ok with doing what we wanted.
He's giving us raw files as well as the finished images and charging I think 500 or so.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76
