Student loan - volunteering abroad & 'income' definition.
I've had some difficulty in getting clear answers to my questions from the SLC and their T&Cs - hope somebody here can point me in the right direction!
I was recently made redundant and as a result had to sell the boat I've been living on for the last few years - strangely, the house price rises in London have benefited me in terms of receiving a a very decent price for the boat compared to the purchase price (£25,000).
I've decided I want to do a year or two of volunteer reconstruction work in the Philippines and was simply wondering about whether when I declare how I'll be supporting myself to the SLC if they'll define this money as income? I'm assuming that as it was my primary residence it will not be categorised as income but boats seem to fall through the cracks of normal rules so often it's difficult to be sure.
Any advice very greatly appreciated!

Profit from selling assets isn't considered income, it's also not taxable.
Just don't tell them about it and just tell them whatever salary/wages you might be getting.Credit 'Score' - Don't buy the credit 'score' that Experian, Equifax and Noddle want to sell you. It's an arbitrary number that means nothing when it comes to applying for credit.
