Oil and Milk

Not been a free market for a while - its now interventionist (is that a word?) - look how the Government try to buck the free market:
Incentives to FTB's to buy houses - keeps prices artificially high and builders profits up - without it they would have to sell their product for what it was really worth..
Car scrappage scheme - trying to force up sales. Surely if you're not selling them then your business model is unviable?0 -
Easy to say that sitting at your desk hiding behind your computer screen.
Would you say that to the faces of the hundreds of thousands of workers across various industries that may lose their jobs if it was not for government support? 80% of our manufacturing could be exported if the 'free market' had its way.
Would gladly say it to their faces I have done before said to farmers when they were getting bailed out years ago, I don't think they should, nor should any oil companies get bailed out so a place like Aberdeen can continue with false economics. They should have let the banks fail IMO
They did not save Rover cars when they were going to lose 1000's of workers or no tax cuts coming their way, I think it should be fair in every way.0 -
There are animal welfare issues to consider too, with "mega dairies" keeping high production, short lived animals inside for the duration of their rather miserable lives. I pay more for organic milk, assuming the animals have a better quality of life. Consumer tastes do change; see how common free range eggs are now when once they were a specialist product. They are an EYESORES!!!!0

That's the current business model in the UK and in Australia for that matter. Urban posters hugely subsidise rural ones.0 -
look up what artificial intelligence can do.
I was going to say
Hopefully one day it will improve the quality of the posts of here.....
Then I remembered how thin skinned, self important and humourless most of the posters on this forum are, so I decided better of it.'In nature, there are neither rewards nor punishments - there are Consequences.'0
