Anyone heard of UK Funding Corporation?

Hi All,
I received a call from the UK Funding Corporation today explaining they are calling on behalf of the government to help people out of debt. Once I told them I was not employed, they wanted to stop the conversation there and then!
They say the government is willing to pay up to 50% to clear the debt and the remaining debt will be left by yourself to be paid, making it more affordable.
Can anyone tell me if they have heard of this and whether it is genuine or not? I'm sure the government would have advertised this if it was the case?!?

It sounds very dodgy to me.Who having known the diamond will concern himself with glass?

Cold callers offering debt advice and debt solutions are to be avoided - their aim is to make thousands of pounds worth of fees from you.
If you are having problems with your debts then contact one of the free impartial debt advice charities. See here - IMPORTANT - Where to seek professional impartial advice about your debts.
There is definitely no such goverment scheme. It is possible to pay less than your total outstanding debts if you enter an IVA and your creditors agree to accept less than the total outstanding - but this is a form of insolvency that is suitable for a minority of people and has serious implications.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Thank you to those who have responded. I knew it was to good to be true!0
