Would a playstation plus subscription come under the 14 day refund of consumer rights

I accidentally re purchased PS+, and found on their UK site there is a 14 day cancelation window. So I ring them to cancel, and they claim that it is only for new members. Even though their site does not specify that.

So as I suspect they are BS ing me I just checked the consumer rights. and it looks like PS+ would come under that.

Is this indeed the case that PS+ comes under the right to cancel of consumer rights?

Most cancellation policies tend to apply to new customers \ signups, existing customers don't tend to be treated the same as they are already part of the service. I know that with Mobile phones it tended to be that contract renewals would not have the same rights to cancel..

Most likely that sonys wording will be 14 days from the 'original' purchase, so will be from when you first took out the service rather that a renewal..

I'm pretty sure CCR doesn't differentiate between new purchases and renewals, so no reason I can see why it wouldn't apply.

So if you're not a new member was this an auto-renewal?

Normally you can't 're-purchase' ps+, what would happen is your expiry date would be extended to show the new subscription you paid for.

EG, bought one year today expiry Jan 2016, buy another year tomorrow would give an expiry of Jan 2017.

Check what your expiry date is.
