Civil Service Pension Updates

Options
Hi I have a deferred CS pension. It's my birthday tomorrow, and in previous years I have had an update on it's value shortly after my birthday each year.

Now that deferred pensions have been taken over from Capita and now run by MyCSP (and we all know how that's going!) has anyone recently had a birthday, and a pension update from MyCSP? If so, how long after your birthday did it take to arrive, or did you have to ring up to get one? Thanks.

Do not hold your breath! My birthday was in Dec and I have a colleague whose birthday was in September and we are both still awaiting statements.
  • To the best of my knowledge, MyCSP no longer automatically issue pension updates. I asked for one in August and was told that I would get it within 15 working days. I didn't, I rang them and was told that the timescale for providing projections had been changed to 3 months. I retired this month and have still had not a word of information about my pension.

You will need to exercise extreme, perhaps even superhuman patience when dealing with this organisation.

Hmm, as I suspected. I'll ring them tomorrow and ask for an updated statement, might get it by Easter!! Thanks all.

Update for everyone. I phoned MyCSP today, not too long a wait for the call to be answered, about 15 minutes. Anyhow, the young lady told me that all deferred members will, from now on, be getting an annual statement of their pensions in April, regardless of when their birthday falls. I couldn't have one now as my birthday (yesterday) puts me too close to the date they are due to go out. Hope this helps.
  • Best of luck, Cath.

My own update: I had my retirement pack last week and sent it back by recorded delivery on Friday. Once the Royal Mail website shows status as delivered, I'll start making regular calls to MyCsp until I get some money.

An ex work colleague of mine retired in mid December and still hasn't had a penny.
