    I mean put the capital (cash left over) in account(s) that earn interest, it won't be much but it will something.

    You will need to seek some financial advice as its your money.

    No or low risk = little return, premium bonds (might earn £0 or you might get a few pay outs), ISA, savings account, or reward accounts.

    High risk = higher returns, stocks and shares or maybe gold.

    Theres a section on here about savings.

    If the money is to buy a house. Put it on deposit in a savings account. Do not risk the capital.
