At this point I don't know the answer to that, at present we have no need to move but you never know what will come up.
A bit more reading up on S&S Isa's then. The missus sees these as a risk compared to the mortgage mind you..
The missus needs to read up on inflation, compounded returns, investing in general.
Does she know pensions are invested? Would investing in a pension, where your money is increased immediately thru tax relief make her less worried?0 -
She's right, there is more investment risk. There's a general rule in investing: the more ups and downs or risk you're prepared to accept, the greater your long term gains will be.The missus sees these as a risk compared to the mortgage mind you..
Mortgage overpaying is good for those who have very low tolerance for investment ups and downs. S&S investing is better for those trying to pick something above a no drop guarantee to make more money.0
