Nationwide mortgage process - will there be more checks

Hi

Am using a broker and got a AIP straight away. Once we found a property we moved to the full application which took quite a while to go through as they requested additional bank statements etc and detail on employment bonuses. That was then all ok.

We were due to exchange on a property in December but it fell through as seller pulled out. We have now found another property. They have asked for Nov and Dec bank statements but will they perform more credit checks or not?

I am applying directly with the nationwide - the mortgage advisor in branch did explicitly say on several occasions that if this purchase falls through, and we then want to buy a different property, they will have to start the application again from the very beginning, so completely from scratch. Therefore I would expect more credit searches etc

Your broker will be the expert though.
  • No major problem just applied for a new air miles credit card which we plan to use to help boost air miles points - will be paid off in full each month but didn't want that to go against me!
