Are smart tv's smart features well supported by manufacturer?

Just a thought but I wouldnt buy a smart TV based on the apps you can get with 1, theres no telling how many years down the line the TV Manf/or whoever will pull the apps. Be better off buying a Roku or now TV box.
Its just something to consider.
Yep the now TV box is great I have bought 3 these past few weeks.
I have plex running on it too easy enough to set up. But hoping that sky don't close the hack to install plex.

I think Smart TV's are a bit short term. You're expecting support in 2 or 3 years that you may not get. You may be lucky enough to find a user base of developers who make their own ROM's or something, but your TV will be on metaphorical life support.
Personally, I would recommend a dumb TV + something like a Chromecast which is cheaper, easier to setup and should be supported for a few years.
Best still, if support does end, bin it, and get something else. They're cheap enough.0
