Was I mis sold my pension?

I worked for the NHS from 1985 to 1992 full time and paid into superannuation. After I left the NHS I enquired about taking out a private pension, and was encouraged to do this, also transferring my superannuation funds into this.
I have been working for the NHS again since 2001, part time. I'm aware now that I would have had much better pension benefits if I had kept paying into the superannuation funds during my career break.
Do I have a claim, if so who would I go to for advice?

Once you left NHS employment you became a deferred member of the NHS pension scheme, and it wouldn't have been possible to remain an active, contributing member. Transferring out your deferred benefits is another matter, though - why did you do that?
('NHS pension scheme' = 'NHS superannuation' - terminology has changed since the early 90s, but it's the same thing.)0 -
Starting a personal pension did not mean that you had to transfer your deferred DB pension to it.
Were you advised to do this by an IFA?

Yes I was encouraged to transfer my funds. Thanks for info, I will check out the links.0

Who recommended you transfer - and when did you do it?0

Where you not contacted in the late 90s to see if you were missold - the Pensions Review that investigated many of these?
Not sure you can do anything about it now?0
