Many thanks for the rapid response the solicitor does say BACS at £35 but I suspect it's a typo

£35 for BACS is a common charge.
The Insurance is a matter that was discussed on this forum last year and is something solicitors like to put in place to protect the Lender from your death or bankruptcy which could technically cause issues for your daughter and the Lender.
It is better for them that you pay for the policy.
