Buying first house whilst starting new role

Hiya,

I am looking at buying my first house with my partner. She currently works for the NHS but is changing roles within it which is giving her a significant wage rise, which is what we would need to base our mortgage on to get the house we want.

She starts this job tomorrow.

Will we be able to apply for a mortgage based on her new income immediately? I understand that the mortgage companies usually want wage slips, but if we were able to provide a written statement from HR stating salary, permanent position, start date etc would this be acceptable?

Thank you for any help.

Having done some research myself, the company I am looking at going with (Skipton) specify 6 months in continuous employment.

If the job is with the same company, would it count?

    Why Skipton?

Because the house I am buying is a new build (ex show home) and Skipton have the best rate for a new build with a 10% deposit, the better rates want a 15%.

I thought that might be it.

If you want Skipton to underwrite a mortgage on a new income level I would expect them to want to see the first payslip showing the income before they release funds.

Hopefully, this will work with your timings.
