Do you always share comp entry on Facebook/Twitter?

Options
Even if it's optional? Do you think this is crucial to winning? I have entered so many competitions where it says "for an extra entry, share this on social media". I tend to ignore this but wondered what you all do?

Comments

  • I always share to the social media I use for comps. I have no idea how much impact two entries v. one entry in a social media comp, but wouldn't say it's crucial.

I would say though that brands like you to be interested in them if it's a social media comp, so just RT things randomly is not the best way to enter those comps.

Depends, if they are "instants" and you get an extra go then almost always, if it earns an extra entry (so doubles your chances) then usually, if it doesn't increase your chances then only if it's one I think other people will want to enter (so cheese is an always share)

depends on the prize & how I'm feeling & if I think any other friends would like is- it often says that the extra entry will only be given if someone enters on your link

I tend not to bother with those ones although I did share one of the FB advents on FB and TW before I noticed it was only if people used the link. Towards the final day, I think of 12, I was getting over 2,000 entries a day into the draw - won nothing but I had no idea those sort of numbers were involved or just how high the odds must be on those type of competitions

Only the freaking awesome stuff to help me look freaking awesome for sharing it.

But seriously, just what I believe is helpful for other people. Rarely money prizes and disinfectant. More helping people learn things and take action or start a business.

Many of these sites use things like 'randomizer' etc as I think running competition & prize laws/rules somewhere may make them bound to make sure their own opinion is kept out of it, making it 'fair' through randomisation. Rafflecopter does this for the comp runner for example.
