    Good morning everyone :hello:

I had a lie in till 8am this morning which was so lovely. Hubby got up and made me a cup of tea while I showered and got dressed and now he's taken Meg out for a walk as she is very very bouncy this morning :D.

DD12 wants to dye her hair today so she will be going over to Tescos in a bit with a list of what she is allowed to choose from. The school is quite strict over hair colour so it's limited to 'natural' colours only. She is growing up fast :).

Hubby is making a roast chicken dinner today so I can have the day off from cooking. I may bake later though as I fancy a piece of cake to go with my cup of tea this afternoon. I have a sad jar of lemon curd open so will probably make a lemon curd cake. I will put some lemon zest in it too to give it a bit of zing.

I'm not going to church today as I have a bit of a dodgy tummy - thank you IBS - so will enjoy the time with my family instead hahaha they are all upstairs in their bedrooms attatched to their tablets/iphones etc. Never mind, I finished a knitted puppy superhero for my grandson last night so I will start a fairy puppy for my grand daughter today. they are with their dad for the weekend so it has been really quiet here :D.

Well that's all my rambling for now, hope you all have a lovely weekend whatever you are up to, take care xx
  • Good morning all,

Still very frosty here so won't be going out for a while.

WM on, vegetables prepared for lunch, we are having roast beef, bed made and I am still sitting here in PJs. I tthink another coffee is called for and then I may go upstairs and make myself presentable.

Will pop up to see DD and pick up Sunday paper on the way. Other than that not much planned. I am going to tidy my wardrobe this week at long last and I am going to be ruthless :)

Have a good day and stay warm

  • Late up this morning, its blooming cold, have put the heat on, no idea just how cold it is out, have not opened the door.

Load of laundry in, will dry some of the thicker stuff in the dryer, the rest will go on the airer in the sitting room.

Pork steaks for supper with roasyes etc.

    Afternoon everyone.

No idea where the morning has gone. I've been out to move my car off the hill onto flat ground for my early morning start. Had to clear the windscreen of snow and ice- a layer of snow, then a layer of ice with another layer of snow on top.

My mum is much better today, must be because she has a 'slave' making all her food and drink. She does like the attention, unlike me who would hate it. However, if that's all it takes to make her happier then I can do it, it's the least I can do for her.

Need to work on some papers I brought home on Friday as I'm out of the office most of next week and then off back up north on Thursday late afternoon.

I've got shepherds pie to eat and mum has a fish and chip pie from M&S. OH is happy in London so all's well.

Hope it's the same for everyone. Keep warm.
  • Cold but bright here and no snow.

I can't shake this blurdy cough, it has really drained me and I have no energy :( One good thing is that I have lost 8lbs without even trying.

I have physio in London tomorrow as well, not looking forward to that feeling the way I do.

We took DD to work this morning and got diesel for £1.11 a litre so £39 filled the tank from empty :j
Need to have a full tank just so many hossy, clinic and doctors appointments over the next 3 weeks :( DH has checked the oil, screen wash and anti freeze and topped it all up.

At least I have cancelled the dentist because I feel so rough, so that is one less appointment to worry about, it was only for a clean anyway so it can wait.

Roast beef tonight, I have some ckae that I bought for Christmas still left so they can have that for dessert.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

  • Afternoon everyone, DD has just gone to the station to catch her train home and He Who Knows is lighting the stove. After a very cold start it's nice out there now, cold but not bitter and blue sky and sunshine which is nice and warm when you're out of the wind.

I've suffered no damage after my fall yesterday, thank you for all your good wishes and sympathy, you're an amazing bunch, I bounce quite well most times and still seem to heal very quickly when I do damage myself so not even a bad bruise on my elbow and all feels normal again, think I'm very lucky too!!

Builders come back again early tomorrow but should only be upstairs in the bathroom, the big job will be the shower and water tank on Wednesday which I am avoiding like the plague. The only other jobs down here are beading to finish the windows and an extractor fan in the utility room but I don't know what order they'll be done in. I think he will fit loo and washbasin tomorrow and start tiling the bathroom where he can do it, not near the shower. I'll be relieved when it's finished but it's been really nice having the weekend without the disruption and getting a lie in this morning AND tea in bed!!! Life of luxury isn't it? Lyn xxx.

Mrs LW it's a shame you're not near me, or you and Docky could take refuge here while the builders are working.:o

    Evening all,

well ive got my pc back. I came back from the shopping centre to find both 'Youngest' and his girlfriend gone and all her stuff gone too. 'Youngest' said he was going to accompany her to the train station and wait tills he boarded her train.

Hubby fell asleep downstairs last night and I put myself to bed around 11 after the 'kids' had come in from going out for a meal. I couldn't stand the squeaking bed and they weren't particularly quiet either.:( I was in bed listening to music with my headphones in till gone 2am just to drown out the racket that was coming from his bedroom.:o

To be honest its not been a relaxing weekend and as usual, i'll be glad to see the back of it. I'm going to suggest they stay in a Travelodge next time she comes.:D Theres one just a mile or so away.

Lyn I am glad you haven't suffered any serious consequences because of your fall yesterday and hopefully your building work will be completed soon. Many hugs.

Loads to do but can wait till tomorrow. Tea is about all I'm fit for.

    Have a good evening all.
