Moving Home - Remortgage, Broker or not?

We are looking at moving home this year and increasing our mortgage, sooner rather than later...

Our Fix is up 31st May with the Halifax, which means if I wanted to stay with Halifax I know this means I can change product 3 months before (so end of Feb..)

If we stay with the halifax but would like a bigger mortgage i assume this should be a pretty simple exercise and that we would just need a n appointment at the bank with payslips ets...

Is it worth using a Broker for this? Or would we get better rates going direct...

You are assuming Halifax will just offer a bigger mortgage, that's a pretty big assumption.

Why would you not ensure you won't trip up and engage a broker?
