Check your emails carefully

Options
I had a winning email yesterday but I was very lucky to spot it

Each day I receive roughly 400-700 emails I would say 90% of those are comp related each day I do a search my on emails with the words "win" "winner" and "congratulations".

Yesterday nothing (but the usual rubbish casino's) showed up so I started deleting them, then my eye caught "You entered our competition" as the title of the email and no subtitle below, now these usually say sorry you were unlucky this time but you can have 10% off your next order blah de blah.

I just opened the email on the off chance and read I had won...99% of the time I would have deleted that and most companies only make one attempt to contact you!!

A lesson to read your emails more carefully ;)

A little while ago I received what looked like two identical emails from a book publisher. The subject of both was the title of one of their books. I opened one and it told me how wonderful the book was and when it was going to be published. The second email told me I'd won an advance copy. Glad I didn't delete it.

Congratulations on winning. I also search my emails (when hotmail will let me:rotfl:) for the keywords congratulations, winner and won. Once I was lucky enough to spot one with nothing in the subject line to alert me and in the body of the email, it simply said "...your name has been drawn..." I only opened it as it was local to me and I thought it might have had some interesting local news.

700 emails a day  I don't think many could manage that amount.

    Congratulations on your win :T

Wow 700 a day! That is a LOT!! I reckon I get around 200-300, that keeps me busy enough with all the deleting!!

No idea how you can manage hundreds a day,
    I'm "lucky" if I get 30 a day.

I started a HUGE clean out last night and will continue today, I have deleted loads I follow on Twitter, I am now working through all my likes/follows on FB then I will go through my emails one by one deleting companies that no longer have comps but send me emails/newsletters that I no longer want.

All three are very long slow processes though, they make nowt easy to get rid of :(

  • I once got a win which just started "How are you today?" Was just going to ignore it, but later on decided to check it and it was £150 online shoe shop voucher.

Ok, stupid question....how do you do a search for winning/congratulation, etc emails?
I use the google socal search for FB post wins but with emails, I don't actually open them, unless it had any indication in the title, that I'd won. Have I been missing out on potential wins?
