My broker visited a few weeks ago as our current deal is due to come to an end in feb and recommended a new product. We were happy with his analysis - I didn't do any further research though I did ask a few questions and away he went.
Well I have since looked at our current provider and it appears that we could actually get a better rate if we stayed with them instead (2.99 v 3.19).
Should my broker not have mentioned this as an option? I assume he would get no fee if we just rolled into another deal with the current lender and this could be why.
If I were to withdraw from the current process, and they have started the process, we have sent ID and etc and have a mortgage offer from new bank. Apparently they just need a balance from our current provider, would there be any charges we would have to pay, conveyencer etc??
I am tempted to call the current provider to check into this other rate but if we would have to pay loads of charges then I wont bother.
My fault for not looking into it I guess, though I did trust my broker would get us the best deal....

If you have paid a booking fee to the new provider you probably won't get that back.
Your best option is to ask your broker if and why the new product is better for you.
Who is the current lender?I am a Mortgage Broker

No booking fee or anything paid, there were no fee's other than the one payable on completion.
Will give the broker a call, or drop him an email.
Currently Skipton.
Thanks
