Joint bank account

I'm looking just a bit of advice. My ex partner had a bank account and he had added me to the account which then made it a joint account. He had defaulted on the account while my name was still on the it. From that he has been made bankrupt and I'm just looking to know is that the debt written off or will I still have to pay the full amount owed. It's showing on my credit file as a default as well as his. I have offered the company that's dealing with it half of the money that's owed on the account and asked them to put it on my credit file as settled but they said they can't do that until the account is paid in full. I'm just looking to know what can I do about this.

You say HE added you to the account - did you sign anything? Or did he manage to somehow do it without your explicit permission?
If you don't think you signed anything, ask them for proof that you agreed to be on the account, and agreed to be liable for the debt.
If, on the other hand, you did sign and agree to it, then you're most likely jointly and severally liable - i.e. they can pursue you for the whole amount.

It's £1500 and most of it's interest and yes I did sign for the account. But if it's written off with his bankruptcy I know he'll not be liable for it but will I still be?0

IMO yes you will be liable as there is joint and several liability with a joint account.
There will be no point in chasing your ex if he is bankrupt so they will ask you to pay.0
