Help! BR end of 6 years post discharge certificate?

Can anyone help. We are with a broker that was recommended by a friend.
Here is a bit of history - BR August 08. Discharge April 09. Got a letter confirming this date. (Have never got the certificate - tried once but local court closed down and it was proving difficult to do).
We have saved up and now have 10% deposit. Both in good jobs for 5 years + each. I have one blip since BR - a catalogue that want to AR for 3 months. At the time I had post-natel depression after a difficult time/ abusive ex and didnt think about what I was doing or concequences. Noodle report it as Late Payment 1 on a couple of occasions but experian AR. Have tried to get it removed with no luck.
OH has perfect credit - no debt and no late payments or anything.
BR now not showing on Credit files and everything up to date.

Big BR creditors included mbna (who I actually have a CC on a very good rate with now!), HSBC and and egg. I have also since found a £60 default with Nationwide that I wasnt aware of until just before it fell of my file. Had a joint BA with ex, he said he had closed it but instead hadnt cancelled something and it was unauthorised OD.

Anyway....
The broker tried with HF 6 months ago with no luck - straight decline. She wants to wait until the 6 years post discharge and to try with Aldermore. However, she is saying they will post me a letter confirming that it has been 6 years since discharge, I have never heard of this. Any ideas?

You will NEED the discharge certificate without doubt.
It costs £70 and can usually be obtained from the court in question. As that has closed down you would need to find out who would deal with it now - call your council if unsure.

If you can not get that certificate you may as well knock going any further on the head as I dont know of any lender who would lend without that.

When was the AR's dated and who declined you?

Subject to the detail, I would fancy a solution and whilst the discharge letter would be incredibly helpful I do not think 100% essential

  • The AR was Nov/Dec/Jan 2010/2011 for a few hundred and then paid in full and account closed Feb 11. I am so angry with myself but I was in a bad place and pretty alone with a 2 children - 1 a newborn so trying to just move on.

Is there a letter that gets sent out then? When I got discharged I got a stamped letter saying that it was, but will there be another one?

Tomorrow I will call the court again (it still exists just not for BR's).
