I know this has been discussed before but the captchas have always been easy to read for me up until about 2 days ago! They have been words or short phrases now it has changed to illegible gobbledegook! What is going on its driving me insane! Is this the same for everyone?

Yep, same for me
Not a definitive solution, but I've found that sometimes if you refresh the page, the captcha goes away and it just wants your email address.0 -
Just had a look and they seem ok, I did notice a while ago if I refreshed the image a lot they all became the almost impossible to read type.0

Yes I can SO so so SO relate to this pain!! I endure this over weeks in December. I have since placed each site's links into different bookmark folder. That way I can open the first and do the captcha and then open the next half dozen or so which are usually captcha free. Sadly it stops for the rest of the session after that next 6 or so but heck the speed is like lightning fast against 'Chiruskegian' deciphering.
BTW get you hardcore compers enduring too. Much respect.“We are not interested in the fact that the brain has the consistency of cold porridge.” - Alan Turing (1912-1954)0 -
If you get captcha's that suddenly turn into gobbledygook, try a different browser.
It sometimes goes wappy for me when I use IE, but if I change to Chrome, it goes back to normal, and I can finish the rest off.
Very rarely it does it on both, so if that happens you have to leave them for the rest of the day.

If that's right then it must be related to a cookie then rather than IP address. Clearing cache/cookies would possibly do the same.
<< runs off to check
Edit: well I am not really having the same issue even after 14 from the same site. Will keep checking this out though. For now I'd use a different browser as dontone suggests above“We are not interested in the fact that the brain has the consistency of cold porridge.” - Alan Turing (1912-1954)0 -
I feel your pain!
Since Xmas, in terms of captchas, I've been really lucky with them - Most Radio station ones wasn't even asking for a captcha! Since two days ago though I have had those silly surveys popping up and the captchas that just can't be deciphered....!
I've decided now to leave them for a day or two and see what happensDebbie0 -
Noting that Take A Break is the worst tonight. It's no better in another browser so has nothing to do with cookies either. Just them making it as hard as they can. Grit and determination people. We can do this! Think of the precious things.“We are not interested in the fact that the brain has the consistency of cold porridge.” - Alan Turing (1912-1954)0

Anyone else experiencing on some sites..The page you were looking for doesn't exist. You may have mistyped the address or the page may have moved.“We are not interested in the fact that the brain has the consistency of cold porridge.” - Alan Turing (1912-1954)0

^^ Yes that happened to me yesterday on Bella, I just gave up as I really didn't have time to be doing them anyway!0
