You bet! The principle of COD is quite reasonable, but the detail is impenetrable to me. I stumbled upon the oddity that, having deferred my state pension, I reported this fact to one of my final salary schemes, which rewarded me with a "pay rise" during the period of deferral.

Thank you, it might. The explanation that I had over the phone was something to do with contracted in and contracted out employment, and my transferring a pension of the first kind into a final salary pension of the second kind. I understood (I think) at the time, but ......Free the dunston one next time too.0
