Why aren't there more of them?! More chance of winning, and I tend to enjoy entering.

I like the writing ones most. Or taking photos of something. Occasionally crafting ones. But yeah I hate selfies too.0

Effort comps are usually worth having a look at.
Recently I entered a Twitter comp for Tell Us in Ten, you had to review a restaurant, using no more than ten words.
I entered and won a £50 restaurant voucher. There were probably fewer entries and therefore easier to win.
Good luck0 -
Appropriate effort of course can prove a magic mix. Efforts win prizes.
I won something on Pinterest by having to create a board and then also share elsewhere. It was a total faff so I thought, heck nobody will bother so I WILL. And I won!“We are not interested in the fact that the brain has the consistency of cold porridge.” - Alan Turing (1912-1954)0 -
I would love for there to be more effort/creative type comps about. I love entering them (although have never won from any but my daughter has twice)I am a comping addict, I comp for fun but I love a postman knocking on my door0

I love effort competitions especially if it's photographs or video, as I am a Youtuber and love photography. I won a twitter competition once for a heel smoother by homedics, all you had to do was paint your toenails and take a pic, I was the only person who entered!Keep Sprinkling Lucky Dust :A0

There aren't more of them because for the same prize value they get far fewer entries generally so do not promote a brand/product as much as a no effort competition - They also cost more to run than random draws as they need to be judged.0 -

Good point - that had never occurred to me. So I wonder why some companies DO choose to run an effort comp, then?0 -
I love the effort ones, I have won quite a few. Doggy photos and poems or slogans are my favourite. I won a sony Xperia z3 compact a few weeks back which is my best win ever! :T0
