Nationwide Current Accounts

Currently with a Nationwide mortgage and am looking to port and move in the near future. There are a couple of decent deals reserved Nationwide current account customers.
Would it be worth switching bank accounts? The wife would be a joint applicant, so presumably we'd both have to move (currently both with different banks)
Are there any advantages or disadvantages e.g. making acceptance more likely for the mortgage.
Any move would be accompanied by new overdraft requests, which would presumably leave a trace on the credit files.

Yes. We're both self employed so payments are irregular.0
