    Welcome to our world.

Only two answers? Normally you'd get three out of three...

So I just called HSBC about this new application I was told to create and the guy just comes out and asks my when Im doing that instead of editing the old one.

I was told on my previous call that I couldn't do that and I lose my fee's, and the previous person before that told me I could. This is driving me bonkers.

I've now been told he's going to call me back shortly as hes going to unlock my old application, but I wont lose the fee as its the same application.

How can i get 2 different answers from 3 people from the same department ? Totally crazy.
HSBC are a global business, you can't expect the same answer when speaking to two different people on other sides of the globe :rotfl:

Today is a day where I realise using a broker would have been more useful.

How do you go home at night and not kick your dog ?

    I normally start drinking about 4pm. ;)

I've usually done ten hours by then, so it's the equivalent of 6 or 7pm for most people.

HSBC's deals are good but their call centres leave a bit to be desired. We also had inconsistent answers on things.

We remortgaged to them and spoke to two different people about what solicitor we wanted to use and their panel of solicitors... Phoned again to check that a solicitor we had found was OK with them. This person (third person) told us that HSBC paid the legal fees for remortgages if we used a solicitor assigned by them! This wasn't mentioned on the website or the application, nor had the previous two people said it. He just dropped it into conversation. Saved us the £600 we were about to pay our own solicitor!

(n.b. for a purchase I would only ever use a local solicitor that I chose myself, as you want them to thoroughly check out the property, but anyone is fine for a remortgage)
