  • How's everyone got on with their orders? I ordered 5 books on the 14th. They still hadn't arrived this morning so I rang to find out what's going in and was informed that they only had one of my items in stock! Why hadn't I been informed before I rang?? They do say on the website that they send your order once all items are in stock but think it's poor form to not communicate with customers when the order still hadn't been dispatched 12 days later!!

Not impressed with their customer service at all. Have cancelled my remaining book from my order and am sorry to say that I've slunk back to amazon...
  • So far I'm not massively impressed. I've had emails to say two different books were out of stock, and today I've had an email to say they listed another one of the books incorrectly so have cancelled that item from the order. It will be interesting to see what arrives, if anything!

I was very pleased with my Guardian Bookshop order. Placed the order on 14 January and received it on the 19th.

Everything I ordered was in stock and I got some great bargains. Would use them again.

Same here. I really want to like them, but I've ordered in the past, and even without a sale they are unbeiievably slow.
  • Luckily I am not in a hurry for what I ordered.
I too had an email saying one of the 6 books I ordered was currently unavailable but that I could cancel it to release the rest of the order. However, I called them today and now told that the delay in sending them out is because the codes when ordering the books are being switched over with the stock codes (huh?) and that when that transfer was complete the order would be released. However, now two of the books are not available and won't be until the code switch is complete.
As I said, I am not in a hurry, and the sale prices on some of the books were amazing so am going to call in a couple of weeks when code switch is complete (allegedly) and I can then choose which books to cancel if any are still not available.
I can see why people stick to amazon...

Never - unless you want a whole heap more problems. Amazon will sort out problems for you, but Flubit certainly won't, and they'll quite possibly send you a cheaper, obsolete item instead of the one that you were supposed to get.

Then they'll block you from telling people about it on Twitter and Facebook.

A really unpleasant company to deal with, Flubit:
