You could make your own version of triple sec using the peel steeped in bottle of vodka or brandy. (Don't use your expensive brandy for this one!) Peel zest finely from 6 oranges, put in wide neck container, add around 6 cloves, cover with vodka or brandy. Leave for 6 weeks, shaking occasionally. Strain, and then strain again using a coffee filter. Rinse out original container and put flavoured brandy/vodka back in.
Make up a sugar syrup with one cup (roughly 8 fl. oz.)of water, 2 cups of sugar, bring to the boil, and simmer for around 10 mins. Allow to cool and then add to flavoured brandy or vodka. Leave for another 6 weeks shaking every now and then.
Bottle and enjoy.0
