Paid Loan Bank Asking For More

I had a Bank loan with Nat West I could not meet the payments as my circumstances changed the payment was £230.00 per month. I was given the loan while unemployed and was told I could not have insurance it was to pay off a nat west credit card. The loan was over 5 years and the last year I could not manage so asked for a reassessment they agreed £74 per 2 weeks it has crippled me I asked in November how much I owed to be told £138 how pleased I was so on the 26th December 2014 my last payment was made. They overcharged me £9 so I rang they said yes we are sorry put the £9 into my bank and closed the loan account. This Saturday I received a letter to my horror it said it was a mistake and I still owe £230 which they will take from my bank on Wednesday 15th January 2015 I am distraught I am registered disabled and don't have the money what can I do I know I have paid this loan off.

If you know and can prove you paid it including late payment fees and any additional interest then make a formal complaint in writing not on the phone or emailed.

Every time I went into the bank they were trying to push loans and gold accounts on me I even had a £1600 overdraft which I never used they told me it was a cheaper way to take the loan than pay off the card at the time as the interest rate was cheaper

If you were unemployed when you took out the loan how did your circumstances change for the worse to make you unable to repay?

Whatever you do now if unlikely to help before the attempt to take the money.
If it were me, I would empty the account now so at least I had some money to buy food etc.

There was a change in my benefit,
I have now been into the bank who assure me they have closed the account and will no longer seeking the £230 as it was their fault the problem arose I think they know I had paid the loan off but will not admit it a letter is on the way to me as confirmation too.

If unemployed equals DLA, EESA, tax credits etc then it's quite easy. Perfectly possible to be be financially far better off than someone in work.
