Raising Funds

Hi All
We were all brought in to an office on Friday to be told we are getting a £200 per month wage cut in a few months - our management level is being got rid of, so we can drop down a level (with a 2yr lump sum) or get made redundant. With a 7month old redundancy isn't really an option - so I need to raise some cash...
This is why I am posting:
First thing I decided is to sell my 160gb PS3 - I know, I know its a little old - but so am I!
I've placed an add on gumtree, and looked on musicmagpie - to be honest I was disgusted at the £35 they offered.
Its a slim PS3 with two controllers and three games - I never get the time to play it with a 7 month old anyway - and the cash will come in handy
Is there any where else I can try?

If you are on facebook, there will no doubt be 'selling' pages. Working the same as ebay but local to you.
These are great because there is instant cash and no fees or postage.
If you search on fb for 'selling sites in or near 'where you live'
and if not, then start a group.....make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Some people here might be able to help more - I know little about PS stuff sorry but probably higher than £35

It might be also a good time to shop around for better deals for energy and cut down on none essential things like sky, mobile contract if and when you can. Go though your out goings see where you can shave a few quid. Maybe take sandwiches to work if you don't already.0

Cex give £41 at least for a 160GB PS3 (you get more if you have the box). The PS3 is only worth around £100 now. Great console, but obviously the 160GB is a smaller HDD and there's the PS4 out now so prices have dropped.
Selling it as a bundle on Gumtree or Facebook will probably get you the most. Ebay or Amazon is always an option (make sure you write down serial numbers and send tracked). How much you'll get depends on the games and any accessories. To get the most look at cex, game and grainger games for trade-in prices and ask for at least that elsewhere. Remember to take any fees into account. Then if it sells you'll be better off and if it doesn't you have trade-ins to fall back on.
You can do the same if you have any DVDs you want to sell.
For other suggestions, the above is great advice about cutting down and sandwiches.
You may consider doing a carboot. Can be a great way to get a bit of cash and have a clear out too.
There are various sites listed on here that can earn you some extra cash (or vouchers e.g. amazon). Might not be a great earner if you don't have much spare time but it'll be a nice little bonus. You can always save up anything made and use it for presents so you don't need to worry about cash for birthdays or christmas.0
