Does anyone know of a cheaper alternative, it must be able to be used in the morning to wake up and at night with the light gradually fading to go to sleep.

Plenty on ebay for under £15 post free. Search on 'LED Sunrise Digital Alarm Clock Natural Wake Up Light ' and you'll get lots which work on the same principle, although obviously not the same quality as one costing £50+.

I had one of these 'sunrise' clocks and it was ghastly! No use at all to me.

Thanks I did see them but there was one on amazon and the reviews were dreadful it didn't even seem to work.

Thanks for the review you are right it might not be suitable hence why I don't want to spend a lot of money think I will get one of these cheap ones to test it and if it works I can think about spending out on a better quality one.
