getting a job when retired

I retired from working at sea 6 months ago aged 68, still fit I was thinking to do some job and earn a little more while I still can however my job was specialised, I did have to do office work making requisitions and record keeping, planning work and supervising the engineering work. Also had to have a lot of training in first aid, fire fighting, safety and security also regular drug and alcohol testing and medicals, my last medical certificate is still valid until August.
The point is what sort of job would I have a chance of getting, I have no experience of working ashore since 1992.
I would consider any work but not sure what to try for, any advice welcome.

B & Q seem to specialise in recruiting people of 'more advanced years' so if there's one in your area it might be a start point. Your first aid, safety and fire fighting training could well make you a good candidate.

poundland also takes on retired people. My uncle retired 4 years ago and after 6 weeks he was going stir crazy, so he got a job as a p/t Christmas temp and has been there ever since.
