Not sure when they give 'option' of adding to their junk list, if cannot enter without it..
Long time away from MSE, been dealing real life stuff..
Sometimes seen lurking on the compers forum :-)

Not all of them require sign up to enter and for those that do the opt-out is not to enter - not much different to the many newsletter sign up comps there are.0

my beef is that the tickboxes imply you have the option to join or not, but cannot enter unless you do,,Long time away from MSE, been dealing real life stuff..

I think from a legal standpoint they have to have the option to make sure that you "Opt In" and know you are Opting in.
If it was a comp on the Mr Hyde website then it would be OK because they can explicitly say "You'll be Opting in" in the terms and you'll be entering the form on that site (So you know who you're giving your details to), because it's from an external site (ie Shortlist) then they have to make it clear that you're registering for another sites newsletter / giving someone else your details so there's no confusion.0
