Hi Yesterday,
I applied online for decision in principle with tesco bank and it was referred.
A bit about me , i am working on a decent salary , and mortgage i required can be afforded on my salary however i still added my wife on the mortgage application. My wife is been in this country for 2.5 years and she works part time. I have a very good credit history in all the 3 main agencies,
I recieved a call today from tesco bank and they asked me the same question as in the application and they told me its been referred again to the underwriters.
I am seriously tensed about this, as i dont want to apply again and again as it might can affect my credit score.
Can someone experience please guide me as to what is happening and can people also share their experience about tesco customer service as i cant find any reviews.

What is your wife's country of origin?
If not EU, they may require indefinite leave to remain before they will lend.
If she is EU, they may require her to have lived in the UK for a particular period, some say three years, some less.
Operations like TESCO are set up for the "low-hanging fruit" of the easy direct applications and will probably find a reason to decline this.
A broker would find you the right lender based on your circumstances so you avoid wasted speculative applications.I am a mortgage broker. I suggest you wait for the response from TESCO before you do anything else...I am a mortgage broker.
