Lots of debts coming up to 6 year default period. Advice needed!

Hi

Im really keen on any advice i can get on this matter.

When i was younger i took out various credit cards and loans without really thinking how i would repay it and more just because i didn't think i would be approved the credit. I didn't have a job (i was a student) and i had a lot of personal family problems but i realise i was stupid to take out all the credit. It was a vicious circle though. There is also some credit I'm being chased for that i got when i was under 18 somehow!

Anyway i have lived with being harassed by various firms like Mackenzie Hall and Lowell for 5 years now. Potentially now i could start contributing payment to them as my circumstances have changed but they are very nearly up to the 6 year statute barred period. Is it worth holding off until this or will all these companies push for a CCJ as they are claiming in their letters before the 6 years are up?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Some might possibly decide to to go for a CCJ. Others often just let it pass without.

It's not possible to judge very surely which might happen. Depends on a commercial decision by the collector on whether they think it is worth it based on the info they have access to, and these decisions vary so much that you can't really 2nd guess them.
