Happy New Year MSE'ers! Hope it's a lucky one for everyone:D:D:D:D
I was hoping for some motivation and inspiration from everyone please! I've been in Australia for a couple of weeks short of two years and can probably count the number of comps I have entered on my hands. Australia has this regulation that companies have to register and pay money to every state to run competitions. To get around this if they make it a game of skill (25 words or less style) then they don't have to register. Sadly I am rubbish at this and it's time consuming and I get writers block every time! Bad combination. I miss competitions so much (both the thrill of entering and planning in case I win, and actually winning!) I have been comping for over 10 years and have had some decent success too. The other thing is that Oz comp forums require you to pay to access them. Altogether it doesn't make for the exciting experience MSE used to give me.
Does anyone have any advice, sage words or ideas?

Hey there.
Can't really help much, but you could search the forum for "worldwide" which might give you a few comps that are open to you, I know the Hexus ones are generally open worldwide, just depends if the poster has stated in their post.
There's been a couple of other posts in regards to users emigrating to Australia, maybe check these posts and see if you share idea's/comps with them?
