    Depends what's causing the stains.

I always tell my patients just to experiment around until the find something that works for them.

Keeping them as clean as you can on a meal-by-meal basis is the best way to stop stain building up in the first place. Each time you eat something - it's worth trying to give them a bit of a rinse, for the sake of your mouth health.

Routine cleaning should be just with something like soap and maybe a nail brush. (Denture cleaners or toothpaste are a bit abrasive for the plastic on a regular basis). Always do them over a sink with a bit of water in it - then if you drop them, they splash down rather than clatter round the sink and break!

There are also ultrasonic cleaners you can buy - the sort of thing you can get to clean jewelry - they can be quite effective.

But good regular cleaning to stop stain building up is the best way to go.
    How to find a dentist.
    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.

Long term, and with a denture soaking in it for too long - the pink plastic will turn whiter than the teeth on it!!!

Some of the proprietary denture cleaners are bleach based - (Steredent for example) Which is why it's very important to follow instructions on the packet, and not just leave them soaking in it all night.

I wouldn't recommend soaking in ordinary bleach - even diluted (which it should be if you're going to do this), as it's too hit-and-miss. But people do.
