    Not necessarily. I'm borrowing more than the OP, also on a 5 yr fixed product, for around £550pm. I don't think scaremongering is going to help the situation much!

    I've noticed scaremongering is rife on this forum. If I'd paid attention to it when I was considering buying my first house I'd still be living with my parents.
