I don't see the problem in giving them access to UJM. For the year I signed on,
I did the xx things per week (1, checked local paper, 2, checked indeed.co.uk, 3, saw job for xx didn't apply as travel was 3 hrs),
logged these on the notes section of UJM - saved carrying a book/piece of paper,
applied for the jobs they told me to (on the only two occasions they did),
granted I applied for some jobs I didn't want to but in my eyes they probably thought I was over qualified to be a ?? *not being bigheaded*
and turned up on time to sign on
If you're going to be job seeking anyway, might as well log it
Maybe I was just lucky with my 'adviser'0 -
Honestly though, In my limited experience, its your attitude that will make the most difference to how you're treated.
Be friendly, willing and respectful, and you'll get friendly, helpful service.
Be arrogant and act like it's all beneath you...
Totally agree, turn up, nod and smile

Fine, keep on your high horse son, with peer conversational skills like that, employers will be queuing up for you to join their team.Just an update on this. Signed on today and was told universal jobmatch is compulsory to sign up to and the JSA adviser wanted access to my account which I am not going to allow.
So then, I am now assuming I have to set up an account which they are never going to have access to and I will have to keep a written record of all my job search activity.
I don't see the point of being forced to set up the account in the first place if you are not going to give the advisers access to it.
Also, I had it clarified that the 90 minutes travelling time which they expect you to do in your jobsearch takes into account any walking to the train station and any walking from the station to your place of employment.
On the 90 minutes, yes, that is the time to get to and from work. Equates to about a 25 mile journey by car. No worries, I had them clarify this when I signed on. Mind you, the UJS does allow them to look at your search, should you give them the option to do so. But if you do not, you better come up with a record of what you have done (I had too because the system did not like me!!!) to get your money, but hey, I mentioned that above.
Sits done, and selects another bloody interview to go to!0 -

Assuming you have a car of course as The 90 minutes relates to public transport. Favours all those claimants that live in isolated villages as you would have no chance of doing it in 90 minutes.
Yes, I will play ball with them and set up an account with a new e mail address just for that purpose. I will however keep a written record of all my activity so No access to them because
1) My right to do so under data protection, plus concerns of internet security with someone hacking into my email account which was genuinely hacked into a couple of years ago.
2) Don't want any excess spam in my inbox, as the site has connections with monster you will likely get tonnes of it
3) Many of the same jobs duplicated, triplicated & often more than that
4) allowing Illegal jobs to be advertised on there without a wage, advertising commission only
5) The site is under review anyway as it is not fit for purpose.0 -
I set up job match, but declined to give them access to it. First job coach was a little put out by this but accepted it when I said I was checking it regularly.
Second job coach was fine when I explained (in slightly less confrontational terms) that it was as much use as a chocolate teapot and gave them a long list of all the other sites and agencies I was registered with. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -

If you log each step you take you'll have no problems with them. There's one adviser at my local JCP who seems to get off on sanctioning people, but even she's not found cause to pick holes in my search activity yet. Most advisers in my local office seem reasonable.0
