First time buyer electoral roll query

Hello,

Me and my fiance are looking to buy our first house on the Equity scheme and have even found a property we like. We have looked into the financial side of things which has been quite daunting as it's all so new to us. We are within our finances to afford the house and have run credit checks both of which are fine.

However, all our bank accounts, car finance, credit cards are registered at our parents addresses but we have been students in rented accommodation and then lived together in rented accommodation so actually fall under the electoral roll where our rented accommodation is, not where all our accounts are registered to.

Will this affect our mortgage application/how can we get round this?

Thank you :)

A common situation, many young people continue to have their banking information sent to their parents address.

This causes a problem only in that the Lender may ask for some proof of residence for your rented accommodation.

    Most lenders will accept:

    Council Tax Bill
    Utility Bill
    PAYE Coding Notice
    Financial Institution statement

One item for each of you, a joint bill can only satisfy requirements for one of you.

Use a mortgage broker and make sure they understand the situation at outset.
