living in ireland but looking for mortgage in Uk

I'm originally From Scotland and the last 4 years, I've been living in ireland. I'm wondering, in the off chance, if anyone knows any mortgage companies/banks that will give me a mortgage to buy a house in Scotland?
Any advice would be great

Thanks

Are you planning on living in the property or having it as a buy to let?

If so, then the brokers on here will know if it's possible......
  • I was probably looking at a buy to let for the moment, however, I am planning on moving back to Scotland in 4-5 years time, so if I could move into myself eventually, then great, if not, then it's an investment

Yes Darren it is possible but tricky with a slim range of options.

We handled one for clients in Dublin last year but it was 'Hobsons Choice' on the lender.

The longer you have been out of the UK the trickier this is to do. Also, if you are buying in Scotland, many of the smaller English lenders who might do this kind of case do not lend there.

You need to use a broker with some experience in this area.
