Pensions confusion

Hi there
I am hoping i can get some advice here... a number of years ago there was this big thing going around about the idea that there was no money in the pot for young people ( i was then ) so my company engaged a service now standard life to come round to my house and chat about it to me. If i am honest i had no idea what he was on about, i wanted him to go so i just signed the paper work and off he went. Every year they send me statements telling me how much i have in the fund.
The query is that now we have part employer pensions ... would/could that historical fund be linked in with what i have now ? I have also worked for another firm in between that time, so pretty much anticipate that there may be at least 3 pension pots that have been opened , which i have moved away from without closing or notifying them.
Is there anyone out there who can offer any advise on the best way to proceed with this type of query
Thanking you in advance

What you can and should do is dependent on the Ts&Cs of the pension but in principle you should be able to merge your old pension(s) into your current employers scheme. You would need to find these out - eg there may be guarantees with old pension schemes that would be lost on transfer.
The basic method is to go to your current employer's pension people and ask if they can do transfers-in. It essentially works like an ISA transfer, the receiving pension sorts everything out.0 -
