    Hiya....phew, just in time!!

I normally chicken out of these challenges because I know I wont be able to do them :o, but I think I will have a go at this one. I've only got the car loan left to pay off, and at £4500, it's a bit much to pay off in one month lol - but I would like to raise £110 towards it (I know it doesn't sound much, but I'm on a severely reduced income at the moment due to my maternity leave, so things are really tight!).

I've got a few things left to ebay, and will hopefully have some vouchers from Pigsback etc that will arrive before the end of the month.

Would it be acceptable to use a Pigsback Boots voucher for nappies instead of paying for these from our shopping budget, and then transferring the equivalent £10 from our shopping account into the loan account? The other option would be to sell the voucher on ebay, but it would be more hassle and riskier.

  • I would do that snaggles. I'm not bothered where I get the money from so long as at the end of this month I can close my M&S card. I paid £60 today from my wages and waiting on a paypal payment coming through for £80. Was going to take £25 from it to refund myself for the postage costs but I have already managed to survive without it so I will try and pay the whole lot to my card. Exciting this isn't it??:money:

got about £40 now in paypal from my first lot of ebay - will wait until it's 50 to transfer it free before I can count it - a good start though!
  • I got my £80 from e-bay so although the spending devil was on my shoulder saying 'keep some, keep some' I paid the whole lot off of my card. Gulp!!
Going to do this I hope :j

Hi everyone :D - let the challenge commence!

Sorry I haven't been around over the past couple of days, I've been helping my boyfriend move into his new flat.

Welcome to everyone who have joined since I last looked. We can all do this challenge, I know we can!!

I need to list some items on Ebay this weekend. I think the biggest problem with this challenge is that we need the money by the end of the month so that we can all see those lovely zero balances in September.

Shall we try and have a little brainstorming session as to how we can get money quickly? I've listed some items I've got knocking about in my local paper. They go in on Monday and it's cash in hand for me which I can immediately pay off the card.

I'm also getting as much mystery shopping work as I can before the 15th August so that I get the money by the end of the month.

Right, I've just paid £5 off my card for no other reason than I wanted to make a start ;)

    If I can manage £5 a day then that's £155 already :D

A bit late but I've just got in on 1 August! I'd like to join in if thats OK. I've got a nasty old store card - its got about £900 on it and I worked out that to pay it off by Christmas I'd need to pay off at least £200 per month. So to kick that off in August I'd like to double that ... so £400 here I come! Have just listed things on ebay and am going to do a focus group tomorrow so let the challenge commence!

I've applied for a CTF account for Natasha, to invest her trust fund voucher in - it's with Boots/Childrens Mutual Fund, and you get £20 in Boots vouchers for setting up a monthly payment. I would have set up a monthly payment anyway, so hurray - money for nothing (oh, that was a different challenge wasn't it?? :)).

So the Boots vouchers will be used for nappies (so guilt free as I'm buying something for Natasha), and I'll transfer the equivalent £20 over from the shopping account. Great start!!

Welcome - £400 would be a great start to getting rid of that store card :D
