Thought I'd update this while I'm on here...

FP made my wife bankrupt, after about 5 bungled attempts in court. If I'd know that they're not allowed to seek sequestration for a 'secured' loan, it would probably have been a lot longer. Anyway, it didn't earn them a penny and I hope they spent a lot of money on their useless solicitors' fees in the process.

Now, despite all that, they have never ceased the repo action. I haven't heard anything from that since submitting specimen signatures 3(?) years ago.

However, there is still an outstanding amount on my credit report (although, confusingly, it also says 'settled'), and they are still a named security on the property.

I believe they've reached a point where they can't do anything, and are just waiting for a time when we wish to move house to make things as difficult as they can for us. Not that we've got any plans to move...

    Life goes on!

well done for you..keep fighting the scum..
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.

Why would it say settled? Have they sold the debt and settled their own books on this?

Well done, however, for fighting on. Bizarre you've taken so long to update us since the last post. What brought you back now?
  • I've locked myself out of my experian account (doh), which I think was the one saying settled. The other one is showing it as defaulted still...

I was on here again asking another question, so thought I'd add something. That's all! :)

Interesting ... Nothing for a long time, and now phone calls from Credit Solutions Ltd chasing the debt... The joys!

I really don't understand why your anger is directed at first plus and not your wife for lying to you. What am I missing?

Oh boy - it appears that once in debt, always in debt. Ouch.

Well, granting the loan without doing proper checks would be my first bone of contention. Then refusing to listen or negotiate with me.

There's been plenty of anger felt about the mrs as well though... :(
