Steps to front of house.

Im looking for a recommendation for someone to build some steps to the front and rear of a new build property in the Ballymena area. I've considered contacting local builders but wasn't sure if this was the right avenue to explore and was keen to see if anyone had any local recommendations?

Thanks

pretty steps or functional steps? I see a lot of work done locally by Gibson Paving (based portglenone) and their work looks very tidy, but I have no direct experience. They have a lot of pictures on their facebook page

Speaking generally and making no comment on the above mentioned firm.

I can see how you might think steps might be similar to paving, but unlike paving they need to be given a proper foundation (similar to those of the house house) or they can settle. It is, in my view, a job for a builder if they are to be done to any reasonable standard.

PS I have PM'ed the OP

Am I missing the obvious question here? Why has the builder not done this?

are new builds suppose to have steps .I thought they had to have level access .

  • I was interested in steps with more of a contemporary design so I suppose they would come under the 'pretty' heading thetope.

I have looked at Gibsons as I have seen they do a lot of steps but am waiting for them to return my call.

For a little more background, I purchased the house from the builder when it was partially completed and am finishing the build myself. I use the term new build loosely as the house passed planning a few years ago and is under older building regs.
